The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of simple ways to keep safe and avoid violence helping others to feel more confident and safe. This is organised by The Suzy Lamplugh Trust and what they do is highlight practical ways that anyone can avoid violence and aggression, so they can live safer, more confident lives.

Stoptober lasts for a period of 28 days (4 weeks) and is a long running event held each October during which participants are encouraged to stop smoking. The key purpose of this event is to reduce the number of smokers also to encourage participants not to smoke during that 28 day period. As a result, hoping that people give up smoking permanently due to the bad impacts it has on your health and well-being (mental and physical).

Go Sober for October is a fundraising campaign aimed at challenging social drinkers to change their habits for a month and make some healthier lifestyle changes. The purpose of Sober for October is to encourage people to drink alcohol responsibly and stick to the recommended daily guidelines for the rest of the year. Go Sober for October involves 31 days without alcohol and instead of wasting money on buying alcohol you end up raising money for people living with cancer they partner with Macmillan Cancer Support for a positive cause in helping others suffering from cancer.
