Welcome to our Gout treatment service

Gout is a form of arthritis, which is a collective of related disorders brought on by episodes of abnormal inflammation in the joints. People with gout tend to have elevated levels of urate in the blood (hyperuricemia). Gout occurs when hyperuricemia results in the formation of urate crystals in joints, setting off an inflammatory reaction from the immune system.

In people with gout, the beginning episode of inflammation (known as a flare) usually affects the big toe or surrounding joints in the feet or ankles. If high urate levels persist, flares can recur, affecting further joints around the body. The time between flares differentiates among affected individuals; however, the majority of people who experience regular flares, have their second one within 12 months of experiencing the first.
